Mosaic of the 1939 World’s Fair Time Capsule, originally uploaded by Spatch.

The actual time capsule is not actually buried here; it’s elsewhere on the grounds. The mosaic describes the time capsule as containing “22,000 pages of microfilm, 15 minutes of newsreel, and 124 commonly used articles and materials. Specific items include an alarm clock, tooth powder, bifocals, an asbestos shingle, 8/38 issue Harper’s Magazine, a zippered tobacco pouch, Beetleware, carrots, & a Miami fashion show.”

What the heck was Beetleware?! And… why carrots?
